Discover the rich folklore and herbal traditions surrounding one of the world's most beloved plants: rose. In this class we'll explore how roses have been used across centuries and cultures — from soothing preparations to protective charms and ritual lore. Students will learn to make rose-based preparations to take home, including rose lip balm, rose honey, and a rose tea blend, along with a reference guide of recipes and information on rose's many traditional uses.

All levels welcome. All materials are provided.

Gretchen Boyce is a historian, multidisciplinary craftsperson, and founder of Craftfolk Collective. Her work centers on the connections between people, place, and craft, shaped by a career in cultural landscape preservation. A lifelong maker, Gretchen’s practice spans fiber arts, herbal medicine, and traditional foodways, rooted in seasonal rhythms and intentional practice.
