Crochet is a simple skill to learn and an excellent way to slow down and let go of the distractions of modern life. In this class, students will learn the basic crochet stitches required to make a washcloth or dishcloth. This class is intended for beginners, those who are out of practice and want to learn again, or those who simply would like to work on a crochet project with some guidance.

All levels welcome. No experience necessary.

You have the option to purchase a materials kit or bring your own materials:

  • Students who are providing their own materials, please bring 100 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn and an H size crochet hook.

Teacher: Rebecca Navarro, The Astral Farm

Rebecca Navarro grew up in rural Connecticut, where she spent her summers learning classic homesteading skills like sewing, gardening, and canning from her parents. Now, transplanted to Grass Valley, she enjoys sharing her knowledge of skills that are both practical as well as beautiful art forms. In addition, Rebecca teaches English at Ghidotti High School, and runs a small local goat farm called The Astral Farm with her husband and family.
